Democracy & Good Government: A Government That Works for People, Not the Powerful

Build a transparent, accountable government that works for people, not powerful interests — with real ethics enforcement and community input.

My Approach

Standing up to Trump means standing up for democracy right here at home. When special interests and big money drown out regular residents, people lose faith in government. I believe Montgomery County can be a model for what transparent, accountable, people-powered governance looks like. That starts with rejecting the influence of big money and making sure every resident can see how their government works and makes decisions.

What I Will Do As County Executive

  • Expand the authority of the Inspector General to root out waste and hold government accountable
  • Increase transparency and accessibility in county budgeting
  • Ensure your voice is heard before decisions are made, not after
  • Keep big money and special interests out of county decision-making

What I Have Done

  • Running a campaign powered by public financing, not developer money or special interest cash
  • Secured a line-by-line clickable MCPS budget so the public can see exactly how education dollars are spent
  • Fought for transparency in county contracting and stronger ethics rules
  • Spoke out to expand community input in the budget process
