Supporting People with Disabilities: Inclusion, Accessibility, and Dignity for All

Make Montgomery County a national model for inclusion, with fully funded special education and services that let everyone thrive.

My Approach

My daughter has a disability. That means I know firsthand the fights families face — for services, for inclusion, for a system that actually works. Every person with a disability deserves to live with dignity, access the same opportunities as everyone else, and be fully included in our community. Montgomery County should be a model for what that looks like.

What I Will Do As County Executive

  • Make Montgomery County a national model for disability inclusion and accessibility
  • Fully fund special education services so every child gets the support they need
  • Protect critical disability services from state and federal cuts
  • Expand programs that help individuals with disabilities safely interact with law enforcement
  • Ensure county facilities, programs, and services are fully accessible to all residents

What I Have Done

  • Fought for expanded special education funding and improved supports at MCPS
  • Strongly opposed harmful state cuts to Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) programs
  • Convened government, public safety, nonprofits, and advocates for a summit on autism-related elopement — breaking down barriers and advancing solutions
  • Advocated for Eric's ID Law, helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities safely interact with law enforcement
