As the son of a Nigerian immigrant, Will deeply understands the courage, sacrifice, and dreams that define the immigrant experience. As a Councilmember, he has worked hard to ensure immigrants in Montgomery County have full, equal access to every county service and program. During COVID-19, Will proudly supported critical financial assistance for undocumented residents, ensuring no one was left behind in the face of hardship and legal challenges. He stood side-by-side with organizations like CASA to defend the rights of TPS and DACA recipients, advocate for legal representation for immigrants facing deportation, and push back against hateful, anti-immigrant rhetoric. He’ll always fight to keep Montgomery County a welcoming, inclusive home that respects the dignity, rights, and contributions of all our immigrant neighbors.
