Disability Rights

As the parent of a child with a disability, advocating for inclusion and equitable access isn’t just policy—it’s deeply personal. On the Montgomery County Council, Will has consistently fought for expanded special education funding and improved supports at MCPS to ensure every child receives the resources they need to thrive. When the state proposed harmful cuts to Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) programs, Will strongly opposed them, defending critical services for individuals with disabilities and their families. Will has convened school staff and experts to address the urgent issue of autism-related elopement and actively advocated for lifesaving initiatives like Eric’s ID Law, helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities safely interact with law enforcement. Will will continue working to make Montgomery County a model for disability inclusion, accessibility, and dignity for all residents.
