Montgomery Community Media reported on County Councilmember Will Jawando hosting a virtual town hall where over 400 Montgomery County residents voiced frustrations about the county’s snow removal response following a recent snowstorm.
“I just want to say thank you for your patience, not just tonight, but over the last week and a half… your tax dollars pay for high quality service in Montgomery County, and you deserve high quality service.”
— Will Jawando
Residents raised concerns about misinformation on the Winter Storm Information Portal, long wait times on the 3-1-1 system, dangerous snow piles blocking sidewalks and bus stops, and children’s safety getting to school. Many pointed to Rockville’s more effective snow removal as a contrast to the county’s response. Jawando committed to following up with attendees and conveying their concerns directly to the county council.
