The Baltimore Banner reports that Andrew Friedson has conceded the Democratic primary for Montgomery County executive to Will Jawando, acknowledging there were not enough remaining votes to change the outcome. Jawando led with 40% of the vote to Friedson’s 34%, with Evan Glass at 22%.
Jawando credited the campaign’s tone for the win:
“We are winning because we made this a positive campaign about a shared future together.”
Jawando faces Republican nominee Esther Wells in the general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
