Renters for Will
Because everyone deserves a home.
Renters can count on Will Jawando.
Montgomery County renters are drowning in a housing crisis that's been decades in the making. For too long, renters haven't been the priority. Over half of us are cost-burdened, paying 30% or more of our income just to keep a roof over our heads. Nearly 1-in-4 renters spend over half their paycheck on rent alone. In the Montgomery County Executive race, renters need someone they can count on to fight for them.
Will Jawando is that fighter. Will Jawando grew up as a low-income renter right here in Montgomery County. He knows what it's like when the rent goes up and the paycheck doesn't. He knows the fear of eviction notices. He knows why we can't wait anymore.
And when Will makes a promise, he gets it done.
Make it stand out.

RENTER LEADERS SPEAK
AS COUNTY EXECUTIVE: WHAT WILL FIGHTS FOR
1. ENFORCEMENT WITH TEETH
- Fully fund DHCA: Our Department of Housing and Community Affairs protects renters—but only if it has the resources. Will's investing in the people who enforce our rights.
- Go after bad landlords: Using every tool, including Circuit Court, to penalize slumlords and code violators who put profit over people.
- Support the frontlines: DHCA's award-winning community programs already help 20,000+ residents. Will's scaling this up.
3. GOOD CAUSE EVICTION NOW
- Evictions should require a legitimate reason—not just because a landlord wants to jack up rent. Will's fighting for Good Cause eviction protections alongside community advocates.
