Connecting Communities, Fixing What’s Broken
Families can't thrive if they're stuck in traffic, can't afford to get to work, or risk their lives crossing the street. And our infrastructure is falling behind: roads are crumbling, water and sewer systems are aging, and development keeps getting approved without the capacity to support it. We need a transportation system that works for everyone—whether you drive, walk, bike, or take transit.
What I Will Do As County Executive:
What I Have Done:
Accelerate Bus Rapid Transit to connect underserved communities to jobs
Advance Vision Zero to eliminate traffic deaths on our most dangerous corridors
Fight for WMATA funding and ensure the Purple Line serves all communities fairly
Resurface aging roads and fix water and sewer systems before they fail
Ensure infrastructure keeps pace with growth—no more approving development without capacity
Championed Vision Zero initiatives and doubled funding for school walkshed assessments
Pushed to accelerate Bus Rapid Transit, especially New Hampshire Avenue BRT to connect East County
Advocated for increased WMATA funding to improve Metro and bus reliability
Opposed the I-270 expansion plan that excluded transit options
Fought for responsible development that respects infrastructure capacity
