Supporting People with Disabilities
Inclusion, Accessibility, and Dignity for All
My daughter has a disability. That means I know firsthand the fights families face—for services, for inclusion, for a system that actually works. Every person with a disability deserves to live with dignity, access the same opportunities as everyone else, and be fully included in our community. Montgomery County should be a model for what that looks like.
What I Will Do As County Executive:
What I Have Done:
Make Montgomery County a national model for disability inclusion and accessibility
Fully fund special education services so every child gets the support they need
Protect critical disability services from state and federal cuts
Expand programs that help individuals with disabilities safely interact with law enforcement
Ensure county facilities, programs, and services are fully accessible to all residents
Fought for expanded special education funding and improved supports at MCPS
Strongly opposed harmful state cuts to Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) programs
Convened government, public safety, nonprofits, and advocates for a summit on autism-related elopement—breaking down barriers and advancing solutions
Advocated for Eric's ID Law, helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities safely interact with law enforcement
