Reproductive Justice
Fighting for Equity, Safety, and Autonomy
As the father of three daughters, I think about the world they're growing up in and the barriers women still face: in the workplace, in healthcare, in everyday life. I've fought to break down those barriers on the County Council, from protecting reproductive freedom to making it easier for women to hold harassers accountable. Women deserve full autonomy over their bodies, safety in their workplaces, and equal opportunity in our economy.
What I Will Do As County Executive:
What I Have Done:
Prioritize representation of women in county leadership and appointments
Defend reproductive freedom and ensure access to care in Montgomery County
Expand funding for abortion support services and legal aid for providers
Enforce strong protections against workplace harassment
Continue expanding opportunities for women-owned businesses
Led the Council in formally reaffirming a woman's right to choose after the Supreme Court's devastating Dobbs decision
Voted to fund direct support services for individuals seeking abortion care and legal aid to protect abortion providers
Authored Bill 14-20, defining "harassment" and "sexual harassment" in county law so workers no longer have to meet an impossible standard to hold harassers accountable
Introduced the Menstrual Products Access and Equity Act, requiring free menstrual products in public restrooms because menstruation isn't optional and access to basic products shouldn't be either
Expanded the Minority, Female, and Disabled-Owned Business Program, increasing opportunities for women entrepreneurs
