Neighborhoods & Development
Putting Communities First

Development should happen with communities, not to them. Yet too often, powerful developers get their way while residents are left to deal with overcrowded schools, strained infrastructure, and neighborhoods that don't reflect what people actually need. I believe in Montgomery County's master planning process, and I believe residents deserve a real seat at the table before decisions are made.

What I Will Do As County Executive:

What I Have Done:

  • Make sure your voice is heard before decisions are made, not after

  • Fully fund the Office of the People's Counsel so residents have real representation in land-use decisions

  • Ensure development includes real community benefits—infrastructure, affordability, and local priorities

  • Hold developers accountable for what they promise

  • Was one of only two votes against rushing the Attainable Housing Strategy—because residents deserved to be heard

  • Fought to fund the Office of the People's Counsel, your independent advocate in land-use decisions

  • Opposed developer giveaways and stood up to powerful interests demanding transparency and accountability

  • Consistently prioritized community voices over corporate profits in planning decisions
