Federal Workers
Fighting for Justice at Every Level

I'm a former federal worker having served in the Obama Administration at the Department of Education. So when Trump attacks federal employees, he's not attacking some abstract bureaucracy. He's attacking my former colleagues, our neighbors, and our local economy. Montgomery County is home to over 70,000 federal workers and thousands more contractors. These are the people who keep our government running, and they deserve a County Executive who will fight for them.

What I Will Do As County Executive:

What I Have Done:

  • Be a fierce advocate against Trump's attempts to gut agencies, relocate jobs, and undermine our civil service

  • Keep fighting to retain federal talent here in Montgomery County

  • Expand support services for families affected by layoffs

  • Stand with unions representing federal employees

  • Use every tool we have to push back against illegal firings

  • Worked with AFGE to pass legislation giving laid-off federal workers hiring preference for county jobs

  • Helped create Mobilize Montgomery to connect fired workers with job placement, food assistance, and resources

  • Stood up publicly against Trump's illegal attacks on our civil service

  • Supported emergency assistance programs during shutdowns

  • Worked directly with federal employees and their unions to speak out against pay freezes and attacks on workers
