Who Is Running for Montgomery County Executive in 2026?
Five Democrats are on the June 23, 2026 primary ballot for Montgomery County Executive. Early voting runs June 11–18 at any of the county's 14 early voting centers.

Two Republicans — Shelly Skolnick and Esther Wells — are running in the Republican primary. The primary winners meet in the November general election. Montgomery County votes overwhelmingly Democratic, so the June 23 primary will very likely decide the county's next Executive.

A civil rights lawyer, public school dad, and Council Vice President, Will authored the county's landmark rent stabilization law, chaired the Education & Culture Committee, and is running on public financing — not developer money. He's built a coalition of 41 endorsements spanning labor, educators, and elected leaders from Marc Elrich to Aisha Braveboy.
